Spring at Woodgreen

27 Powells Road, Bilpin NSW

OPEN 15 & 16 November, 10am to 4.30pm

 Woodgreen is the venue for the annual autumn Collectors' Plant Fair and is also home to Town and Country Gardens Nursery specialising in unusual plants. The garden has been designed by landscaper and horticulturist, Peta Trahar and is a collectors' garden with an impressive range of rare and unusual plants skillfully arranged to complement colour and to contrast foliage  

The garden will be opened in Spring as part of Australia's Open Garden Scheme and will feature two knowledgeable guest speakers: 

 Speaker session 1: The Enduring Magic of Roses with Klaus Eckardt

Saturday 15 November 11.30am to 12.30pm in the Woodgreen homestead

What is the difference between old and modern roses? Is there really a blue rose? How do you protect your roses from pests and diseases?  What fertilisers should be used for optimal cultivation? Klaus Eckardt of Green E Roses will tell all, and much more, with an opportunity for Q&A

 

Speaker session 2: Seasons of Salvias with Deirdre Mowat

Sunday 16 November 11.30am to 12.30pm in the Woodgreen homestead

Salvias can provide a year-round show of colour with many autumn and winter flowering varieties. Deirdre will give a visual presentation of some of the 900 species of salvias and suggest companion plants for a pleasing display. The above images are just some of the many delightful salvias in the Woodgreen garden
